La. district adopts bring-your-own-device programs for two high schools

Two high schools in a Louisiana parish will launch bring-your-own-technology programs under a school board decision to allow an exemption from a policy that bans the use of cellphones on campus unless there is an emergency. Chad Troxclair, principal of one of the schools, said he expects some growing pains as students begin using devices, such as smartphones and laptops, for classroom purposes only, but he said he anticipates success for the program based on past experiences with iPads in school.
