Minn. district shifts focus of summer-school curriculum to the future

A Minnesota school district has refocused its summer-school program to preparing students for the coming school year, instead of covering material from the previous academic year. Camp Propel, named for its focus on propelling students forward into the next school year, includes science concepts in an effort to boost students' literacy and math skills. Students also study music, physical education, technology and take a field trip.
