Volume for cleared swaps in the U.S. doubles

Data from three counterparties -- IntercontinentalExchange, CME Group and LCH.Clearnet's SwapClear Global -- show that, since January, the number of centrally cleared transactions for over-the-counter derivatives in the U.S. has doubled. Cleared credit default swaps and interest-rate swaps amounted to $10.7 trillion in January. By June 3, that figure had climbed to $20.6 trillion.
