Soccer goalkeepers are as vulnerable as anyone to the "gambler's fallacy," the belief that past results influence future probabilities, according to researchers. Goalkeepers who face a series of penalty kicks to one side of their goal tend to start diving in the opposite direction for subsequent kicks, researchers found.
