FCC prohibits mobile spam

The FCC yesterday approved rules that would ban unsolicited text messages to wireless phones as part of the wireless provisions of the Can Spam Act. To comply with the rule, wireless carriers will have to supply the FCC with domain names they offer service in, and marketers would be banned from sending commercial messages to those domains.
