FCC ruling a boost for TiVo

The FCC approved a plan to let TiVo users send recorded programs over the Internet to computers or other registered TiVo devices. The ruling is a blow to Hollywood studios, which had argued that giving TiVo subscribers too much freedom would encourage piracy.
