Alaska legislators approve TransCanada pipeline license

Alaskan legislators have given TransCanada Corp. approval to seek federal certification for its planned natural gas pipeline from the state's North Slope to Canada's Alberta Hub. TransCanada was the only one of five companies seeking a state license to win approval. BP PLC and ConocoPhillips also are working on a pipeline proposal that would potentially bring natural gas from the North Slope to the U.S.
