FCC fields cable in WiMAX comments

The Free State Foundation -- a think tank that supports a free market -- has urged the Federal Communications Commission to allow large cable MSOs to team with Google and Sprint Nextel for distribution of wireless-broadband services delivered via a national WiMAX network. The agency, which is receiving comments on the Sprint venture, also has heard support from community colleges and other academic institutions.
