Agency brokers fill gap in bond-trading business

While investment banks have withdrawn from making markets, agency brokers are filling the temporary bond-trading void. Banks are expected to return to the business, which would add pressure to brokers trying to survive in that market. Evolution Securities, for example, has a 35-member fixed-income team in Europe doing billions of euros in trades this year.
