Calif. lawmakers introduce bills for San Joaquin River Delta

California lawmakers introduced legislation that would create a Delta Stewardship Council to oversee water use in the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta. Drought and restrictions on pumping water have drawn the delta's water use into the spotlight. "Neither the delta ecosystem nor the state's water needs have been well served by decades of benign neglect," said Silicon Valley Sen. Joe Simitian.
