Major U.S. business groups urge Obama to take lead in free trade

Some of the biggest and most influential business organizations in the U.S. called on President Barack Obama take leadership in pressing for international free-trade agreements. The request was made in a letter, obtained by Financial Times, to Obama signed by the presidents of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the Emergency Committee for American Trade, the Business Roundtable, the National Foreign Trade Council, the National Association of Manufacturers and the U.S. Council for International Business. The letter asks Obama to "make the case" for international trade to the American people.
