Missouri hospital depends on health IT incentives to sustain operations

Missouri-based Sac-Osage Hospital is borrowing about $1 million to help it transition from paper-based charts to electronic health records. The 47-bed rural hospital hopes its adoption of an EHR system will qualify it to receive $3 million in federal incentives necessary to continue its operations.
