Patients carrying HCV have higher risk of death

New study data showed hepatitis C patients who carry the virus over time are at a higher risk of death and specifically liver-related death, compared with patients who no longer have the virus in their bloodstream. HCV patients who received treatment for 48 weeks or more significantly reduced their risk of death, according to a second study.
