Standards effort looks to unite federal security efforts

As part of its effort to create one information security framework for all federal IT systems, the National Institute of Standards and Technology released a draft version of its new Recommended Security Controls for Federal Information Systems and Organizations. The document is the first in a series of standards being created in partnership with the Department of Defense, the Intelligence Community and the Committee on National Security Systems.
