Apple's iPad and other lightweight tablets, which run free or low-cost applications, are faster than traditional computers when used by consumers for banking and could have a huge impact on the future of banking, according to U.S. Banker. Besides helping banks reach younger, tech-savvy customers, the iPad's closed operating system isn't susceptible to malware programs used to steal users' log-in information, making online banking safer.
