Commentary: A wider view of health is needed to improve care

Improving Americans' quality of health encompasses more than medical care, which prevents only 10% to 15% of premature deaths, health policy experts wrote in a Health Affairs commentary. They suggest that nutrition programs for hungry families, anti-smoking efforts, proper child care and education for low-income families, and increased physical activity and nutrition for children would help to promote a national culture of health.
