Google buys social-gaming startup

Google has bought social-media gaming company Slide for a sum estimated at as much as $228 million, following its recent investment of $150 million in rival social-media gaming giant Zynga. The buy will feed into a gaming-focused social-media project, "Google Games," which is expected to launch this year.
