Plans to build $202M Colton rail crossing are on track for 2011

Construction plans for a $202 million railroad crossing to be built in Colton, Calif., remain on schedule, with work slated to begin in late 2011. The new crossing will unsnarl the intersection of Union Pacific and Burlington Northern Santa Fe tracks by creating a 1.4-mile-long overpass to separate the tracks. More than half of the project's cost is being funded by public money.
