Report: Physician groups should lead quality efforts

An American Medical Association report called for physician groups to lead efforts to define health care quality and help implement improvement initiatives. The report was based on an analysis of discussions of physicians and medical society executives who said a top issue was ensuring that quality is defined and measured so that it addresses patient care.
