Study tracks mental repercussions of gender violence

Women who survive physical or sexual violence are eleven times more likely to face depression and other mental conditions than other women, according to a study published in the Journal of the American Medical Association. The study calls for broader recognition of gender violence as a public health concern and public campaigns to counter violence against women.
