$380M renovation of Gateway Arch area begins in St. Louis

Renovation work has started on the grounds of the Gateway Arch on the Mississippi River waterfront in St. Louis in preparation for the landmark's 50th anniversary in 2015. The bulk of the work on the $380 million project involves road rerouting and bridge construction. Plans also include conversion of the Pine Street bridge into a pedestrian pathway.
