Analysis: Canadian pipeline could transform oil trade

A 2,700-mile pipeline that TransCanada plans to build from Alberta to Canada's east coast could change the north Atlantic oil trade. The pipeline could eventually bring light sweet crude oil to the U.S. East Coast, where several refineries have shut down in recent years. By replacing the more expensive European and African oil, Canadian oil could help surviving U.S. refineries stay in business.
