Chicken wing chains' popularity soars

Chicken wings, a throwaway piece of the bird until bar owners turned them into thirst-making appetizers to sell more beer in the 1980s, have become so popular that chains including Wingstop and Buffalo Wild Wings are enjoying rapid growth. As wing popularity grows, chains hit some hurdles including supply issues, higher prices and push back by producers who want to require wing eateries to buy the whole chicken.
