FDA tentatively approves Strides' generic HIV drug

The FDA has granted Strides Arcolab tentative approval for its HIV therapy emtricitabine and tenofovir disoproxil fumarate tablets in the 200-milligram/300-milligram strength. The drug, a generic copy of Gilead Sciences' Truvada, cannot be marketed until Gilead's patent expires.
