House legislation aims to bar mandatory arbitration

A member of the House Financial Services Committee, Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., has introduced a bill to prohibit financial advisers and brokers from putting a mandatory-arbitration clause in contracts with clients. The Investor Choice Act would also prohibit restrictions on class-action claims against advisers and brokers.
