Omega-3 fatty acids may help fight cancer, study suggests

The omega-3 fatty acids eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) induce cell death in oral and skin squamous-cell carcinomas, while leaving normal cells intact, according to a recently published study by researchers at Queen Mary, University of London, U.K. The fatty acids overstimulated epidermal growth factor, inducing cell death, the researchers report, and EPA worked even at low doses.
