Opinion: Publicis-Omnicom would be one digital giant among many

Any antitrust concerns that the proposed Publicis Omnicom Group faces should be looked at in the context of other digital giants, Simon Dumenco writes. Google this year is expected to hold 33% of all online ad revenue and 56% of mobile ad revenue, according to eMarketer, and Facebook is growing at a rapid pace. But the U.S. government's "ultimately pointless" attempts to break up Microsoft's desktop monopoly are a reminder "that in the technology world, fearsome, all-powerful giants have a way of becoming, rather suddenly, dinosaurs," Dumenco writes.
