A bridge over Storrow Drive in Boston, another over the Passaic River in New Jersey, and yet another that runs parallel to the Harlem River in New York City, are among 20 bridges considered the most dangerous in the U.S., according to this article. Each is more than 45 years old and has a low sufficiency rating. Some have design flaws, cracks in concrete or corroded support beams. "We're going to see a wave of bridges that are going to need major overhaul or replacement," said David Goldberg of Transportation for America.
