South Korea expands backing for corporate bonds

South Korea's aid program for the corporate bond market through the issue of conversion bonds is being extended to a wider array of industry sectors. "We initially had planned to purchase bonds issued just by companies in depressed sectors, including troubled shipbuilders and builders. But we have decided to help companies in other sectors that face liquidity crunch as well," said an official with the conversion bond issue evaluation committee.
