South Korea expands drug exports

Figures from the Korea Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association show that domestic drug manufacturers expanded their exports almost 47% from 2011 to 2012, breaking the $1 trillion mark for the first time. The government's decision to cut domestic prices by 17% reduced local sales and profits, and helped spur companies to expand into international markets more vigorously, industry experts said.
