Study: More small businesses taking credit cards via mobile

Forty percent of small and midsized businesses are taking credit cards via card readers used with smartphones or tablets, finds a new report from BIA/Kelsey. "Mobile-payments platforms are gaining significant traction with SMBs, with 40% of those surveyed stating they now accept payments at the point-of-sale with a mobile credit card reader attached to a smartphone or tablet," said BIA/Kelsey's Steve Marshall. "Another 16% plan to add this capability within the next 12 months."
