Study: Teachers, students are increasingly reaching for social media

Students are spending an increasing amount of time using social media, according to a recent study that finds 96% of youth with Internet access use social-networking technology and many using it to talk about school. A majority of surveyed teachers, 59%, said their students use social media for educational purposes while 35% said their schools have blogs run by students and/or educators. Teachers also reported using social media to connect with fellow educators and administrators.
