Hospital teaches parents of NICU babies to provide home care

Texas Children's Hospital's simulation center teaches parents of NICU infants how to care for them at home if they are discharged with ventilators or tracheostomies. Parents use infant mannequins to learn how to handle airway emergencies, tube obstruction, dislodged tracheostomies and power outages.
