HTTP/2 standard gets mixed reviews ahead of release

Industry experts are weighing in on the Internet Engineering Task Force's second-generation Hypertext Transport Protocol, which was designed using Google's SPDY protocol and promises to improve download speeds of newer, more complex websites. While some praise HTTP/2 for its relative simplicity compared with the older version, others, such as developer Greg Wilkins, worry that the new standard could put additional strain on server infrastructure and make it easier to hide malicious software.
