Pasta bridge competition helps teach math, engineering

High-school students from around the country gathered at Johns Hopkins University this summer to test their math and engineering skills. Students were tasked with using uncooked spaghetti noodles to build bridges. Some bridges held nearly 100 pounds before breaking.
