Russian hackers steal 1.2B identities, 500M e-mail addresses

Some 1.2 billion usernames and passwords, as well as 500 million e-mail addresses, have been stolen by a Russian hacker gang, according to Hold Security. The targets range from small websites to large U.S. corporate sites. The hackers appear to be using the identities mostly to send spam.
