Reject merger conditions, Sprint asks FCC

The Sprint Nextel-Clearwire partnership told the FCC its ability to compete effectively against its wireless rivals would be undercut if the agency agreed to new conditions proposed by AT&T, which asserts the new entity has underrepresented the amount of spectrum it needs for its venture. In its filing, Sprint and Clearwire said that their plan to build a national wireless network based on WiMAX technology would "become a new, viable broadband competitor," and alleged that AT&T was trying to stifle new competition.
