Exercise helpful during pregnancy, research shows

Low- to moderate-intensity exercise is helpful for pregnant women, even those who didn't exercise before conceiving, researchers report. Exercise can strengthen overall musculoskeletal and physiologic health, they noted, and reduce pregnancy-related symptoms, such as back pain and swelling. They caution that pregnant women should be in good health and should avoid high-intensity workouts.
