FDA to speed up issuance of warning letters, Hamburg says

FDA Commissioner Margaret Hamburg promised to immediately warn drugmakers, device firms and other companies about violations found during inspections by no longer requiring the agency's chief counsel to review warning letters, except under complex, legal circumstances. "Our expectation is that companies will work to quickly and thoroughly correct deficiencies and ensure safety," Hamburg said.
