The General Services Administration has awarded contracts worth $1.1 billion to build or upgrade federal buildings. The contracts are funded by the economic-stimulus plan, and 20 of the projects comprise $940 million of the total. The agency will award another $1 billion in projects by the end of 2009. It hopes to award 91% of the $5.5 billion it has received from the stimulus plan by September 2010.
