T-Mobile USA subscriber adds fall, prepaid revenue sees gain

T-Mobile USA's revenue fell 2.4% in the second quarter from a year earlier as sales in the carrier's contracted-subscriber business declined, while its prepaid revenue grew almost 10%, the Deutsche Telekom unit reported today. The carrier netted 325,000 subscribers compared with 668,000 a year earlier, and its contracted churn rate increased from 1.9% to 2.2%. Deutsche Telekom posted a 32% rise in profit, saying it was starting to see the effects of global cost-cutting and other turnaround moves.
