Intermodal rail transport steals more business from truckers

More companies are using trains instead of trucks to transport their goods from one city to another, according to the Intermodal Association of North America. The number of businesses using the money-saving service, called intermodal rail transport, was at its highest numbers in three years in June, the association reports. However, it still only accounts for 1.5% of total rail traffic.
