12-year-old pilot wins Top Gun trophy at adult competition

Twelve-year-old Alex Bowley out-flew more than 50 adult pilots to take home the Top Gun trophy at the Cessna 150/152 Fly In competition in Clinton, Iowa. While he didn't win any single contest, he flew well in all of them, earning the overall prize. Bowley flew with his mentor Graeme Smith, because he is too young to solo. "I wish Alex was 16. He is absolutely ready to solo this aircraft," said Smith.
