24 states honored for telemedicine efforts

The American Telemedicine Association has commended 24 states for their efforts to implement the best telehealth regulations in school-based telemedicine, store-and-forward telemedicine and remote patient monitoring and home video visits. Georgia and Nebraska are two of the states recognized for providing Medicaid coverage for telehealth services remotely offered to school-based facilities, while Alaska and Arizona were among the states honored for reimbursing store-and-forward telehealth services, which involves using asynchronous virtual communication to provide access to specialty medicine remotely.
