Researchers think cows could help ensure the health of the planet's grasslands -- by eating them. Regular grazing can actually stimulate growth, as long as fields are subsequently given time to recover. Now, The Nature Conservancy's Fox Ranch is documenting its experience with "planned grazing," which is modeled on the ways wild herds move across grassy areas. If the system works, the organization will recommend the model to other ranchers.
