Cyclosporiasis outbreak traced to salad mix, health officials say

One source of the cyclosporiasis outbreak that has sickened at least 425 people in 16 states was traced to a prepackaged salad mix, according to data from Nebraska and Iowa health officials that was confirmed by the CDC. The salad mix was traced by the FDA to Taylor Farms de Mexico. The agencies continue to look for other sources, and CDC Director Thomas Frieden, M.D., said physicians should consider the possibility of Cyclospora infection and request tests for patients who have had several days of diarrhea.
