Saputo announces $136.7M profit in Q1, predicts slow growth

Cheese and dairy manufacturer Saputo posted a first-quarter profit of $136.7 million with the warning that fierce competition in Canada will likely prevent such significant growth in subsequent quarters. “We’re used to seeing year over year increases in profit, but Canada is very, very challenging and we’re fighting every single day to keep our markets,” said CEO Lino Saputo Jr.
