Survey: Academic job prospects improve for sociology graduates

Job prospects are improving for emerging sociologists, according to a survey from the American Sociological Association. The ASA listed 507 faculty positions in 2012, a modest increase from 480 the year before. Non-academic jobs are also improving, according to the ASA, with government, nonprofit and research analyst jobs available for graduates who decide not to pursue an academic position.
