Social stigma haunts long-term unemployed

Thirty-three percent of unemployed Americans have been looking for jobs for six months or longer, and research suggests that there is a psychological barrier against long-term unemployed as companies may believe such workers are somehow incompetent. Many long-term unemployed are turning to support groups as their confidence erodes after long employment gaps.
