Commentary: Biofuels as weapon against global hunger

The notion that biofuels will compete with food production and thereby hurt the global fight against hunger is a myth, Brazil's Department of Energy director writes in the International Herald Tribune. On the contrary, biofuel production in developing countries holds the great potential of creating millions of jobs and ultimately boosting resources to buy food, says Antonio Jose Ferreira Simoes.
